Nothing in God’s prophetic program must take place as a prerequisite to the Rapture. Reason 1: The Rapture is a signless event. Unlike the Second Coming, no signs will precede the Rapture. This is called the doctrine of imminency —that is, the Rapture is imminent; it could happen at any moment. Specifically, nothing in God’s prophetic program must take place as a prerequisite to the Rapture. Things may happen, but nothing must happen. That means we don’t know when it could happen. It could be today or years from now. Without any warning, Jesus Christ will return to rapture His saints and take them to heaven. As Christians, we are called to live prepared lives, ready to meet our Saviour at any moment. Reason 2: The Rapture is a surprise event. While many have attempted to predict the date of the Rapture and Jesus’ Second Coming, we should take Jesus’ words in Matthew 24:36-39 literally: No one, including Jesus and the angels, knows the time of His return. Only God the Father knows. Not knowing when Jesus will come for His Church gives us cause to be ready at all times. Reason 3: The Rapture is a sudden event . Paul wrote that the Rapture would take place “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye” (1 Corinthians 15:52). “Twinkling” likely refers to the amount of time it takes for light, traveling at 186,000 miles per second, to be reflected on the retina of one’s eye. In less than a nanosecond, the Lord will call all believers to Himself! Christ Jesus’ shout of “Come forth!” will summon every believer—living and dead—around the world. First Thessalonians 4:16 says, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God.” These are not three distinct sounds but one sound described in three different ways. This sound will ring with commanding authority like the voice of an archangel. Its volume and clarity will rival the blare of a trumpet. And the sound will be heard only by those who have trusted Christ as Saviour. In John 11:43, Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come forth!” At the Rapture, His shout of “Come forth!” will not summon a single individual but every believer—living and dead—around the world.

‘Kingdom Now?’: Today’s Self-Appointed Prophets And Apostles Need A Reality Check! Is the church anointed to reign? The short answer is no, but let me state the problem and explain my answer. The church is not appointed or anointed to reign. Jesus Christ is in his thousand-year Millennial reign on earth. NAR (New Apostolic Reformation) leaders teach that modern-day apostles and prophets, and their Christian followers are meant to take dominion over governments and other institutions of cultural influence to speed the day when a triumphant church will rule and reign with a returning Christ. One of the fastest-growing false teachings in the church today is called by various names: Kingdom Now, Dominion Theology, Reconstructionism, and the Restoration Movement. It is an effort to use the church to make the world perfect for our Lord’s return. This is coined the term Seven Mountain Mandate They teach that the missionary mandate of Jesus to His disciples to ‘go and make disciples’ of all the nations into a mandate to effect social transformation. He reasons that, since churches already have a presence in every nation in the world, we need to now concentrate on influencing the systems (the ‘mountains’) within these nations.“The seven mountains are education, religion, family, business, arts/entertainment, and media. These seven sectors of society are thought to mold the way everyone thinks and behaves. So, to tackle societal change, these seven “mountains” must be transformed. Those who follow the seven mountain mandate speak of ‘occupying’ the mountains, ‘invading’ the culture, and ‘transforming’ or ‘taking back’ society.” This theology is borne out of the Manifest Sons of God movement and Latter Rain movement in about 1948. It also has ties to the positive confession movement. The number one purpose of the church is to take away the souls of men from Satan. The rest of society may be a lost cause because of the Fall in the Garden. The world is a sinking Titanic ripe for judgment, not Garden of Eden perfection. Jesus will take dominion over the cleansed earth. For men to speak of doing that before the judgment of this earth is spiritually arrogant and ignorant. There are far too many verses in the Bible that speak of the coming apostasy in the church and not the glorification of the church! The Bible says that in the last days, the church will not give heed to sound doctrine ( 2 Timothy 4:3-4 ) and will feature far too many “doctrines of demons” ( I Timothy 4:1 ). There will actually be “wolves among the flock” ( Acts 20:29 ). That does not sound like a reigning church. That’s because the world requires a reigning Messiah serving His Millennial kingdom. Today’s self-appointed prophets and apostles who are Dominion proponents need to do a reality check.

I remember when we were pastoring from 1995-2000 a church plant in Maastricht, the Netherlands, we saw then already how Islam was trying to gain dominion. Having been taught by Derek prince on the dangers of Islam, we clearly saw the warning signs already then, but very few were listening. We are living through a civilisational crisis. It is not just economic or political—it is moral, spiritual, and cultural. The foundations of our society are being eroded by ideologies that mock truth, attack tradition, and hollow out the human spirit. In their place, we’re given state surveillance, sexual confusion, open borders, corporate tyranny, global technocracy, and a culture of nihilism that calls it “progress.” This is not progress. It is collapse dressed up in buzzwords. But there is a better way. I call it the Way of Faith, Family, and Freedom. It is not a party platform or a think tank policy paper. It is a worldview; a vision for how individuals, communities, and nations should live and flourish. It’s grounded in history, reinforced by common sense, and vindicated by the simple fact that it works. Let me lay it out plainly. 1. Faith: The Soul of Civilisation At the heart of any culture is a set of beliefs about what is true, what is good, and what is sacred. Our civilisation — Western civilisation —was built upon the Christian faith. That doesn’t mean everyone was a churchgoer. But it does mean our laws, liberties, and institutions were shaped by a Christian moral vision: that every person has dignity, that truth is objective, that there is a natural order to life, and that evil must be resisted. When we abandon faith, we don’t become free thinkers, we become slaves to ideology. In today’s world, that ideology is a mix of wokeism, hedonism, and technocratic control. We must return to our spiritual roots. Not to impose a theocracy but to rekindle the light that once guided our civilisation. 2. Family: The First Institution Before the state, before the market, before the media, there was the family. It is the foundation of every healthy society. Strong families raise strong children. They care for the elderly. They pass on wisdom, values, and belonging. Without families, the state becomes a surrogate parent and the result is social breakdown. Today, the family is under attack. From radical gender ideology in schools, to no-fault divorce, to economic policies that punish stay-at-home parenting and force both parents into the workforce, modern society makes it harder and harder to form and keep families together. We must restore the family to its rightful place as the cornerstone of our communities. That means protecting children. Valuing mothers and fathers. And rejecting ideologies that undermine the basic truth that men and women are different and that’s a good thing. 3. Freedom: Ordered, Not Anarchic Freedom is not the absence of rules. It is the space to live rightly without coercion from tyrants. Real freedom means: Freedom of speech even when it offends. Freedom of religion even when it defies political fashion. Freedom to own property, raise your children, and live in accordance with your conscience. But freedom requires virtue. A society without moral restraint collapses into chaos, and chaos is always followed by control. That’s why I reject both the authoritarianism of the Left and the moral decay of the libertine Right. We need a freedom rooted in virtue; one that protects the individual but upholds the common good. 4. Nation: A People with a Soul A nation is more than a GDP figure or a flag on a pole. It is a people united by common ancestry, culture, language, faith, and memory. Nations must be governed for their citizens, not for foreign investors, global bureaucrats, or ideologues in Geneva. That means: Ending mass immigration schemes that dilute national cohesion. Defending national borders and national industries. Withdrawing from globalist treaties that override national sovereignty. Saying no to the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the World Economic Forum, and any other unelected body that wants to rule from afar. Globalism is not just a threat to national economies. It is a threat to national identity. 5. Truth: The First Casualty We live in an age of lies, where biological reality is denied, speech is censored, history is rewritten, and dissent is treated as extremism. In this environment, simply speaking the truth has become a revolutionary act. We must have the courage to name the lies and refuse to bow. Because the truth doesn’t care about your feelings, your ideology, or your diversity quota. It simply is. And those who build on truth stand firm, while those who build on lies eventually fall. Why This Worldview Works This is not a theory. It’s a time-tested way of life. Societies built on faith, family, and freedom have historically flourished. They produced great art, ordered liberty, innovation with soul, and communities with meaning. They protected children. They honoured elders. They had something to live for, and something to die for. Contrast that with what we see today: record mental illness, collapsing birth rates, gender confusion, cultural self-loathing, endless wars, and digital tyranny. The modern world is rich in data, poor in wisdom. It is technologically advanced, and morally bankrupt. The Path Forward We don’t need to invent a new ideology. We need to recover an old one. That means building families, not bureaucracies. It means worshipping God, not government. It means loving your nation, not apologising for it. It means speaking the truth, even if it costs you. The world today would have us believe that Christ is no longer relevant, that His reign is a myth, and that modern man has outgrown the need for divine authority. But the truth remains unshaken: Christ is King. Not merely in the poetic sense, nor as a mere religious sentiment, but as an absolute and cosmic reality. Whether acknowledged or denied, His kingship is the axis upon which history turns, and His rule extends over all creation. From Genesis to Revelation, the kingship of Christ is proclaimed. The prophet Daniel foresaw the coming of a kingdom that “shall never be destroyed” (Daniel 2:44). Isaiah prophesied of a child born to us, upon whose shoulders would rest “the government” (Isaiah 9:6). The Psalms declare, “The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all” (Psalm 103:19). When Christ stood before Pilate, He did not deny His kingship. Instead, He declared, “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36). This was not a renunciation of earthly authority but a declaration that His reign surpasses the transient powers of men. His was not the political kingship the Jews expected, nor the temporal rule that Rome feared, but a dominion over souls, time, and eternity itself. Modernity has waged war against Christ’s sovereignty. The secular world insists that faith is a private affair, a relic of bygone ages, something to be hidden away. Public life, we are told, must be governed by human reason alone, untainted by divine revelation. This is the great lie of liberalism and humanism: that man can be his own king, a law unto himself. We see the consequences of this rebellion everywhere. Governments that reject Christ’s law enact policies that promote death rather than life, perversion rather than purity, and enslavement rather than true liberty. The family, once the sacred cornerstone of Christian civilization, is mocked and dismantled. Churches, instead of proclaiming Christ as King, bow to the gods of political correctness and modernist compromise. Yet none of this changes the truth. Christ remains enthroned at the right hand of the Father. The laws of man may defy Him, but they will pass away. His law is eternal. In recent years, the simple declaration that "Christ is King" has been falsely smeared as an antisemitic statement. This is a baseless and dishonest accusation designed to silence Christians and undermine the fundamental truth of Christ’s reign. To proclaim the kingship of Christ is not an attack on any people—it is an affirmation of His divine authority over all nations, all peoples, and all of history. To accuse this truth of being hateful is, in fact, an act of anti-Christian bigotry. It seeks to delegitimize Christian faith, to exile Christ from the public square, and to intimidate believers into silence. The irony is stark: those who claim to fight intolerance engage in outright persecution of Christians who dare to proclaim the sovereignty of their Lord. What then are Christians to do? In an age that seeks to erase the very memory of Christ’s kingship, we must be His heralds. We must proclaim, without fear and without apology, that Christ reigns. Our families must be bastions of Christ’s rule. We must enthrone Him in our daily lives, ensuring that our children are raised not by the pagan culture of the age, but by the eternal truths of Scripture and the teachings of the Church. We must resist the lie that faith is a private matter. Christ’s kingship has public consequences. We must advocate for laws and policies that reflect His justice and mercy. We must build institutions—schools, businesses, communities—that operate under the banner of Christ the King. Above all, we must submit ourselves to His reign. Many profess Christ with their lips but refuse to yield their lives to His authority. To declare Christ as King means to obey Him. It means to abandon sin, to embrace virtue, and to live in radical fidelity to His will. Though the world rages, though the enemies of Christ conspire, their efforts are in vain. The day will come when “every knee shall bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord” (Philippians 2:10-11). The question is not whether Christ will reign, for He already does. The question is whether we will acknowledge His reign now, as faithful subjects, or later, when all will be forced to recognize the truth. Christ is King. Let us live as if we believe it.

There are moments in history when the illusion of neutrality is stripped away, when men and nations are forced to take a stand. In such times, the battle between truth and falsehood, righteousness and sin, is no longer an abstract matter of philosophy but an inescapable reality that demands action. Two men, writing in different eras yet facing the same fundamental crisis, understood this with piercing clarity: G.K. Chesterton and Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874–1936) was a towering figure of English letters, a journalist, novelist, and Christian apologist whose wit and wisdom exposed the contradictions of secular modernity. He defended the Christian faith against the rising tides of relativism, materialism, and political idolatry. On his deathbed, Chesterton uttered words that remain as urgent now as they were then: “ The issue is now clear. It is between light and darkness, and everyone must choose his side. ” Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (1918–2008), a Russian novelist and historian, bore witness to the soul-crushing tyranny of the Soviet regime. A prisoner in Stalin’s gulags, he chronicled the horrors of totalitarianism in The Gulag Archipelago, revealing that the greatest atrocities were not merely the result of oppressive systems but of individual moral choices. He famously wrote: “ The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either—but right through every human heart. ” Both men understood what many today refuse to acknowledge: that the defining struggle of humanity is not between political factions or economic theories but between truth and falsehood, good and evil, light and darkness. The prophet Isaiah foresaw the devastation that follows when a society rejects this fundamental distinction. His warning is as chilling today as when it was first spoken: “ Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! ” (Isaiah 5:20) Isaiah does not address this warning to a pagan empire but to God’s own people—those who knew the truth yet chose to pervert it. This is not merely a matter of mistaken judgment but a willful inversion of the moral order. To call good evil and evil good is to declare war on reality itself. It is the sin of Eden, where man sought to define right and wrong apart from God. It is the rebellion of Babel, where man believed he could reshape the world by his own will. And it is the defining feature of our age. Modern society prides itself on being “enlightened,” yet it celebrates the murder of the unborn as a human right. It preaches tolerance while silencing dissent. It exalts self-indulgence as freedom and condemns self-discipline as oppression. The very foundations of morality, once rooted in divine law, are now subject to the shifting sands of human preference. Like Israel in Isaiah’s time, the world has not merely stumbled into sin—it has institutionalized it, glorified it, and demanded that all bow before it. This is why Chesterton’s words ring with prophetic urgency: “ The issue is now clear. It is between light and darkness, and everyone must choose his side. ” There is no more room for comfortable compromise. The Christian cannot sit at the table of demons and partake in the banquet of the Lamb (1 Corinthians 10:21). We must choose. Yet Solzhenitsyn reminds us that this choice is not only external. The battle is not merely against corrupt governments or false ideologies; it is within us. “ The line separating good and evil passes… right through every human heart. ” Before we stand against the darkness in the world, we must root it out of our own souls. It is not enough to denounce the sins of the culture while coddling the same sins in our private lives. The war begins in the secret places of the heart, where each man must decide whether he will serve God or himself. The time for lukewarm Christianity is over. Christ Himself has declared: “ Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. ” (Matthew 12:30) There is no neutral ground. Silence in the face of evil is complicity. To shrink back is to surrender. The world is hurtling toward moral chaos, and the Church must decide whether it will stand as a beacon of light or be swallowed by the darkness. The line has been drawn. Choose wisely.

How this "Christianity" is a Hollow Shell of the Faith: A great crisis has befallen the churches of the West. Once bastions of truth, many have been overtaken by a counterfeit Christianity—an insipid, revisionist distortion of the Faith that no longer bears the salt and light of the Gospel. This counterfeit Christianity, which parades under the banner of liberal theology, has eroded the foundations of the Church, poisoning the very wellsprings of Christian doctrine and practice. The Anglican Communion, the Lutheran Church, the Church of Scotland, the Uniting Church of Australia, the United Church of Christ in America—these and many others have become hotbeds of spiritual rot. Specially within the Roman Catholic Church, and scandalously at times within the Vatican itself, the same creeping apostasy takes hold. Once orthodox evangelical circles are now being drawn into its web, seduced by a perverse and sentimentalized understanding of love and mercy that bears no resemblance to the truth of Christ. Jesus warned of such deception: "If the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot" (Matthew 5:13). Yet, the very leaders of these churches, entrusted with preserving the Faith, have abandoned their posts. They have exchanged the truth of God for the applause of the world, seeking the favour of men rather than the approval of Christ. The Betrayal: A Gospel Rendered Powerless At the heart of this betrayal is a rejection of biblical authority. Liberal Christianity is characterized by its reliance on human reason, subjective experience, and cultural trends rather than the unchanging Word of God. It embraces modern intellectual fashions—critical theory, radical feminism, sexual liberation, and the dissolution of moral absolutes—while scoffing at the doctrines of sin, repentance, judgment, and the transformative power of the Cross. In its obsession with social justice causes, it picks and chooses which Christian ethics are acceptable to the world and which must be discarded. These revisionists still claim the name of Christ, but their faith is an empty shell. They preach a Christ who demands nothing, who does not judge sin, and who conforms to the whims of the world rather than standing above it as Lord. They proclaim a gospel of inclusivity devoid of repentance, a love stripped of holiness, a mercy that winks at sin rather than delivering sinners from its bondage. This is not Christianity; it is a counterfeit. Sexuality and the Defilement of Doctrine Nowhere is this apostasy more evident than in the relentless push to affirm sexual immorality under the guise of Christian compassion. Homosexuality, transgenderism, and all manner of perversions are not merely tolerated but celebrated from pulpits once consecrated to the Word of God. Churches that should be calling sinners to repentance instead bless sin with the trappings of religious ceremony. The question that the serpent asked Eve in the Garden— “Did God really say?” —is now asked by priests, bishops, and theologians who seek to rewrite the commandments of God to align with the sexual revolution. Yet the Scriptures could not be clearer: "Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who have sex with men... will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). To reject this truth is not an act of love but a damnable lie. The Moral Cowardice of the Church’s Leaders The tragedy of the modern church is not merely the presence of false teachers but the cowardice of those who know better and say nothing. Too many pastors, bishops, and theologians remain silent for fear of being ostracized. They witness the desecration of their traditions, the abandonment of orthodoxy, and the celebration of sin, yet they offer no resistance. Their silence is complicity. Meanwhile, those who do stand firm are branded as hateful, rigid, and unloving. But as G.K. Chesterton once said, “Tolerance is the virtue of the man without convictions.” It is not love to tell a sinner that he need not repent. It is not mercy to affirm people in the very sins that will damn them. True Christian love warns, corrects, and calls to repentance. The Bitter Fruits of Apostasy What has been the fruit of this liberalized, revisionist Christianity? A dying church. Denominations that have embraced this new gospel are emptying at an alarming rate. The Anglican Communion is fracturing. The Church of Scotland is a shadow of its former self. The United Church of Christ and the Uniting Church of Australia are dwindling into irrelevance. The Catholic Church, where liberalizing forces gain momentum, decline follows. Where orthodoxy is abandoned, vitality disappears. Jesus foretold this: "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots" (Matthew 15:13). A church that ceases to proclaim the true Gospel is not a church—it is a rotting corpse. A Call to the Faithful: Hold the Line! What then is to be done? The faithful must resist. We must reject the counterfeit gospel, call out the false shepherds, and stand firm in the truth even when it costs us. The early Christians did not bend the Gospel to suit the whims of Rome; they endured persecution rather than deny the faith. The Reformers did not conform to the corruptions of their age; they risked everything to restore biblical truth. Today, the choice is before us: will we conform to the world, or will we stand with Christ? Let every faithful believer take heart. Christ promised, "I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" (Matthew 16:18). Liberal Christianity may wield power in the halls of academia, the corridors of denominational bureaucracy, and within the Vatican itself. But it will not stand. Like every heresy before it, it will pass into irrelevance, while the true Church of Jesus Christ endures. Now is the time to be bold. Now is the time to be unashamed of the Gospel. Now is the time to hold the line. “Contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3).
