WHEN TRUTH IS CALLED HATRED

 WHEN TRUTH IS CALLED HATRED... WE STAND FOR CHRIST!

There was a time when evil hid in the shadows and righteousness was honoured. Today, we are witnessing a growing reversal. Biblical truth is increasingly labelled as offensive, while sin is celebrated as freedom. Yet popularity has never been God's standard—His Word is.

Standing for biblical truth does not mean speaking with arrogance or malice. It means remaining faithful to what God has already spoken, even when the world rejects it. As followers of Christ, we are not called to rewrite the truth to fit the culture. We are called to faithfully proclaim it with conviction, humility, and love.

Let's examine what the Bible says.

 THE WORLD'S VIEW OF TRUTH HAS NOT CHANGED—IT HAS REBELLED AGAINST GOD'S TRUTH

Jesus explained why many reject the truth:

"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."

— John 3:19

The issue is not that God's truth is unclear. The issue is that fallen humanity naturally resists the light because the light exposes sin.

Truth reveals.

Truth convicts.

Truth calls people to repentance.

For those who love darkness, the light becomes uncomfortable. That is why the rejection of biblical truth should not surprise believers.

WHEN EVIL IS CALLED GOOD

Isaiah warned of a day when moral standards would be reversed.

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness..."

— Isaiah 5:20

This verse is not merely describing wrong behaviour—it describes a society that has exchanged God's standard for its own.

When God's truth is rejected, sin is no longer seen as sinful.

What God condemns is applauded.

What God calls holy is criticized.

What God defines as truth is dismissed as intolerance.

The Bible warned this would happen long before our generation.

 SPEAKING THE TRUTH IS NOT HATRED

One of the greatest misunderstandings today is the belief that disagreeing with sin automatically means hating people.

The Bible teaches something very different.

Paul instructed believers:

"But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:"

— Ephesians 4:15

Notice the balance.

We are commanded to speak the truth.

We are also commanded to do it in love.

Love never requires us to compromise God's truth.

Neither does truth give us permission to speak without love.

Biblical love tells the truth because eternal souls matter.

WHY BELIEVERS MUST STAND FIRM

Paul warned Timothy:

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;"

"And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

— 2 Timothy 4:3–4

People often prefer messages that affirm their desires rather than messages that confront them with God's Word.

That is why believers must never measure truth by popularity.

Truth is not determined by:

 Public opinion.

 Cultural acceptance.

 Social media trends.

 Majority vote.

Truth is determined by God's unchanging Word.

"Sanctify them through your truth: your word is truth."

— John 17:17

OUR RESPONSE AS BELIEVERS

The early apostles faced pressure to remain silent.

Their answer was simple:

"Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than unto God, you judge."

— Acts 4:19

This was not an act of hatred.

It was an act of obedience.

Standing for biblical truth may cost us popularity, acceptance, or comfort, but our highest loyalty belongs to Jesus Christ.

We are not called to win every argument.

We are called to remain faithful to God's Word.

 A WARNING TO EVERY BELIEVER

Never allow the world's opinion to become your standard of truth.

If culture applauds what God condemns, believe God.

If society rejects what God calls righteous, believe God.

If following Christ brings opposition, remember His words:

"Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution."

— 2 Timothy 3:12

Faithfulness has never been measured by applause.

It has always been measured by obedience.

 FINAL THOUGHT

The world may reject God's truth.

The world may redefine right and wrong.

The world may call truth hatred.

But none of those things change the truth.

God's Word remains true whether it is applauded or opposed.

So let us stand with courage, speak with love, walk in humility, and remain faithful to Jesus Christ. The truth of God's Word does not need to be rewritten to fit the world—it needs to be believed, obeyed, and proclaimed.
