What kind of pillar are you?

I always heard people call certain people “pillars of the community.”

I get that more now.

A pillar isn’t flashy. It has weight. It holds its place.

You don’t really think about it until everything around it starts leaning.

Then Jesus says this:

“Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out…”

Revelation 3:12

That’s a serious promise.

Jesus takes a word we use for honourable people and puts it inside the temple of God.

The overcomer gets established by Christ Himself.

Built in. Named.

Belonging.

No more going out.

Then Genesis shows the other side.

“But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.”

Genesis 19:26

Lot’s wife became a pillar too.

A pillar in Genesis stood as a warning about looking back.

A pillar in Revelation stands as a promise to the one who overcomes.

Same picture.

Completely different ending.

Your life can become a warning sign, or it can become something God establishes.

I don’t want to be remembered for almost leaving Sodom.

I want to keep walking until Jesus plants me where He wants me.
