The world will try to kill Jesus again!

Most people have heard the word Armageddon, but very few seem to know what the Battle of Armageddon actually is.

It isn’t just another war in the Middle East, and it isn’t the name for the end of the world.

Armageddon is where the kings of the earth are gathered for the final organized rebellion against Jesus Christ.

“And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”

Revelation 16:16

Armageddon comes from Har Megiddo, meaning the hill or mountain of Megiddo.

Megiddo overlooks the Jezreel Valley in northern Israel, one of the most fought-over pieces of ground on earth.

That’s where the armies gather.

The fighting reaches Jerusalem, and Zechariah tells us exactly who steps onto the battlefield.

“Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.”

Zechariah 14:3

This is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 19 says heaven opens and Christ returns riding a white horse.

His eyes are like a flame of fire, many crowns are upon His head, and the armies of heaven follow Him.

The same Jesus this world mocked, rejected, and crucified will return as

“KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

The Beast and the False Prophet are thrown alive into the lake of fire.

The armies gathered against Christ are destroyed by the word proceeding from His mouth.

They show up for a war.

Jesus ends it with a word.

Armageddon reveals just how deep human rebellion really goes.

Jesus Christ will split the sky, return from heaven, and the nations will still believe they can defeat Him.

The world tried to kill Him once.

At Armageddon, they’ll try again.

This time He isn’t carrying a cross.

He’s wearing a crown.
