Why The Left Loves Islam So Much

Progressives have become some of Islam's biggest defenders. The progressive left has made "tolerance" and "pluralism" central parts of their modern ideology.

These same people will call you an extremist radical if you refuse to use their preferred pronouns, but they will stand side-by-side with people who literally advocate throwing gays from rooftops.

This is not an aberrant behaviour. This is just how the modern left operates now.

The Enemy of My Enemy Is My Friend

At its heart, much of the left today views itself as an opponent to the Western way of life, to Christianity, to capitalism and to traditional values.

There lies Islam. As an anti-Western religion, there are few forces that oppose each and every aspect of Western Civilization like Islam does.

For the left, whatever weakens the West is a positive force. With Islam, we see an enormous, growing and unyielding force that rejects Western norms at every turn (be it borders, free speech, women's rights, freedom of religion etc.)

The left does not embrace Islam because it shares their values. They embrace it because it serves as a counter-culture to the society they seek to destroy.

Identity Politics and the Oppressor/Oppressed Hierarchy

Identity politics is based upon a single and simplistic framing: all of humanity is divided into two camps, the oppressors (Whites, Westerners, Christians, Jews, capitalists), and the oppressed (all others).

Muslims, especially Palestinians, are viewed as being part of a special oppressed class regardless of the fact they are actively oppressing others.

That explains why the left gives so little attention to the actual atrocities taking place in Muslim lands.

Women who are treated as property and have no rights. LGBT who are imprisoned or murdered. Apostates who face capital punishment. Christians and other minority groups who are either persecuted or eliminated entirely.

All of that is happening in Muslim countries, but completely ignored by Western left.

When the narrative takes precedence over reality, it becomes impossible to fact-check your way out of the situation.

Therefore, a hijab is viewed as a symbol of "resistance" and "choice” against the West, while Iranian women are being beaten and killed for removing theirs.

No other example exemplifies this hypocrisy better than the "Queers for Palestine" crowd. Here you have gay activists marching in support of a movement whose leaders would murder them without giving a second thought.

Hamas and other Palestinian Islamic organizations follow Sharia law, which literally prescribes the death penalty for all homosexual activities. And here you have gay activists waving rainbow flags alongside individuals who would throw them off rooftops. It's not solidarity or intersectionality. It's complete and total stupidity.

Multiculturalism as Suicide Pact

The left's love affair with "diversity" allows it to never criticize a culture, unless that culture is Western and Christian. Criticism of Islam, especially, is labelled both "Islamophobia” and "racist."

By ignoring that, many Islamic countries embody everything progressives claim to abhor. This is the biggest example of selective blindness enabled by the left.

Useful Idiots and Power

Some on the left genuinely believe that by exposing Muslims to Western values, they can reform Islam. History indicates just the opposite:

When Muslim populations increase within a country, so too do their demands for Sharia and special treatment, not liberal values. The left's lack of knowledge (and their cynical motivations) make them ideal useful idiots for those who seek very different outcomes.

And then there are those on the hard-left who view mass migration and Islamic influence as tools to undermine the existing social order. Mass immigration, demographic change and cultural disintegration are all designed to weaken the West.

And since Islam shares the same goal of dismantling Western civilization as we know it, it is merely the most effective tool available for these ends.

The Selective Outrage

The very same activists who go ballistic over something so mundane like, for instance, a Christian baker declining to bake a cake for a gay wedding, have absolutely nothing to say about:

Honour killings.

Female genital mutilation.

Child marriage.

Blasphemy laws.

Or ex-Muslims who are executed.

There is no moral consistency here. Only tribal ideology.

Christianity is Western. Therefore Christianity is evil.

Islam is non-Western. Therefore Islam is sacred.

Jews fighting back are colonizers. Muslims waging war against Jews are freedom fighters.

It’s a Fatal Delusion

The left does not love Islam because it truly aligns with their ideals. They love Islam simply because it opposes Western civilization, the civilization that gave them the freedom to exist in the first place. That’s all it boils down to.

This alliance is built on lies, selective ignorance, and an absolute disdain for the very same culture that gave them freedom.

This will ultimately prove disastrous for everybody involved, especially the progressives that mistakenly believed they could ride the tiger without getting devoured.

This is exactly what happened in Iran during the Islamic revolution: the left joined forces with Islam to overthrow the Shah, only for them to be the first to be killed after the Islamic regime came to power.

Real equality requires applying the same universal principles for everyone, including condemning ideas and cultures that pose threats to those principles.

Until the left stops using doublespeak and deals with Islamic doctrine truthfully, their "love" for Islam will continue to represent one of the most self-destructively stupid ideologies in history.

The disconnect is blatant and honestly, pathetic.

I just don’t understand how they can be so stupid. Refusing to acknowledge this reality isn't tolerance, it's committing suicide.

They hate Jews & Christians & love death.

In regards to the last one: Islam has no problem with killing anyone that is not a Muslim or sacrificing their own children & people for the "greater good".
