These words might sound a bit confusing or complicated. You might think why do I need to know this? Isn't it enough just to know I am saved as a believer and follower of Christ. Yes surely, but I believe looking deeper into these words will cause you to grow more in love for the Lord & appreciate even more what He has done for us & the riches we have in Christ.
I was motivated to also teach this in our church before we partake of Communion. Quite a few years ago now, during our "Sabbatical" year away, I visited many different churches. I was actually horrified how casual and even disrespectfully this was treated. There was no teaching or explanation, just people casually walking up to table in front of the church, during worship & preaching , adults & children. Some even climbing over chairs to get out of their rows. This was not just in one church, but it seemed to be trend in many churches. Sometimes it is good to find out as a pastor to see what is going on in other churches by visiting "incognito".
