HOW SATAN GETS HIS INFORMATION........

I think we give the devil way too much credit.

Satan is powerful, ancient, organised, and dangerous. Scripture doesn’t tell us to play games with him.

It also never tells us he is God.

Satan is not omniscient. He doesn’t know everything.

He is not omnipresent. He can’t be everywhere at once.

He is not sovereign. He doesn’t control history.

He is a created being in rebellion against the Creator.

God alone searches the heart.

“I the LORD search the heart, I test the mind…”

Jeremiah 17:10

Jesus said:

“I am he which searches the minds and hearts…”

Revelation 2:23

That is God’s lane.

The devil can study you. God knows you.

Big difference.

So how does Satan know so much?

Scripture gives us the answer.

He watches.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about like aroaring lion seeking whom he may devour.”

1 Peter 5:8

A lion doesn’t attack randomly. He studies prey.

Movement.

Weakness.

Isolation.

Fatigue.

Wounds.

Repetition.

Patterns.

Satan has watched humanity for thousands of years. He knows what pride looks like before it speaks. He knows what bitterness does when it sits too long. He knows what lust does when it gets fed. He knows what fear does when a person keeps it hidden in the dark.

He doesn’t have to read your mind when your habits are already giving a sermon.

He listens.

People tell on themselves all day long.

Complaints. Fears. Boasting. Secret desires. Old wounds. Repeated sins. Resentment. Envy. Unbelief.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”

Proverbs 18:21

That verse isn’t a magic formula. It’s wisdom.

Your mouth reveals what is ruling you.

Satan listened to Eve before he deceived her. He didn’t start by forcing sin into her hand. He started with a question.

“has God indeed said…”

Genesis 3:1

He watched how she handled God’s word.

Then he twisted it.

Same serpent. Same playbook.

He knows Scripture..well.

When Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness, he quoted Psalm 91. Matthew 4 shows the devil using Bible verses, just using them crooked.

That means ignorance is dangerous, but so is sloppy Bible handling.

False doctrine isn’t always the absence of Scripture. Sometimes it’s Scripture ripped out of context and handed to people like poison in a clean cup.

A verse can sound biblical and still be used wrong.

That is why “it sounds like Bible” isn’t enough.

Context matters. Doctrine matters. Comparing Scripture with Scripture matters.

He studies patterns.

“Lest Satan should take advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”

2 Corinthians 2:11

Devices means schemes, thoughts, methods, designs.

Satan has methods.

He isn’t winging it like some drunk fool in a casino. He has watched kings, prophets, apostles, churches, families, nations, and individuals collapse under the same old sins wearing different clothes.

Pride still works.

Lust still works.

Fear still works.

Offense still works.

Money still works.

Religious pride really works.

If a trap worked on people stronger than us, we shouldn’t act shocked when he tries it on us.

He uses spiritual networks.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age…”

Ephesians 6:12

The kingdom of darkness is organised.

Satan is not personally hovering over every person on earth. He is finite. He has rank, order, and spiritual servants.

Daniel 10 gives us a look behind the curtain. A demonic prince resisted the angelic messenger sent to Daniel. That shows spiritual conflict connected to earthly kingdoms and regions.

He also uses people.

Peter loved Jesus, but when Peter tried to talk Jesus away from the cross, Christ said:

“Get behind me, Satan…”

Matthew 16:23 KJV

Jesus wasn’t saying Peter became the devil. He was exposing the spirit behind the counsel.

Satan often speaks through human logic that sounds reasonable but opposes God’s will.

“Protect yourself.”

“Avoid the cross.”

“Take the easy road.”

“God would never ask that of you.”

Same serpent.

Cleaner suit.

He accuses.

Revelation 12:10 calls him:

“the accuser of our brethren…”

In Job 1, Satan appears before God and already has an opinion about Job. He knew Job was blessed. He knew there was a hedge around him. He had studied the man enough to build an accusation.

His argument was simple:

Job only serves God because God blesses him.

That exposes Satan’s mind.

He assumes worship is transactional because his own heart is corrupt.

He can’t understand love for God unless selfish gain is attached to it.

He knows history.

Satan has been around since before man fell. He watched Cain kill Abel. He watched Israel in the wilderness. He watched David fall. He watched Judas sell Christ. He watched churches split. He has seen empires rise, rot, and turn to dust.

He has watched revivals, persecutions, betrayals, compromises, counterfeit movements, false prophets, and lukewarm churches.

He is ancient.

That doesn’t make him holy-wise.

It makes him experienced in evil.

Those are not the same thing.

He understands the flesh.

“But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own desires, and enticed.”

James 1:14

Satan doesn’t have to invent a brand-new weakness every morning.

The flesh already gives him plenty of material.

He baits what is already there.

That is why sanctification is warfare. The more you feed the flesh, the more ammunition you hand the enemy. The more you walk in the Spirit, the less useful your old patterns become.

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

Galatians 5:16

He knows prophecy, but he can’t stop God’s counsel.

Satan knows the Bible. He knows his time is short.

“...For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.” Revelation 12:12

He knows where history is going, but he can’t stop it.

He knows Christ will reign, but he still rebels.

That is one of the clearest pictures of evil in Scripture.

Evil is not just ignorance.

Sometimes evil knows the truth and hates it anyway.

Satan has information, but he does not have saving truth.

He knows facts.

He hates the Light.

Conclusion:

Satan gets information by watching behavior, listening to words, studying patterns, using demonic ranks, exploiting human weakness, twisting Scripture, accusing believers, and working through people and systems already resisting God.

What he cannot do is become God.

He cannot search your heart like the Lord does.

He cannot be everywhere.

He cannot overpower the blood of Jesus Christ.

He cannot take a saved person out of the hand of God.

Jesus said:

“And I give them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall anyone snatch them out of my hand.” John 10:28

So be sober.

Be vigilant.

Quit handing the enemy free ammunition.

Stop flirting with the same thing you keep asking God to deliver you from.

Close doors.

Guard your mouth.

Learn Scripture in context.

Walk in the Spirit.

The devil may study you.

God knows you.

Big difference.
