Among the many Bible verses that are either misquoted or taken out of context is the famed statement of Jesus in John’s gospel: John 16:33 KJV – “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” The word “tribulation” here means “anguish, burdens, persecutions, and troubles”. It does not mean “wrath”. Jesus was not saying, as many propose, that the church will go through the Great Tribulation. We know this because the Great Tribulation is a time of God’s wrath, which we do not have an appointment with (1 Thessalonians 5:9). The purposes of the Great Tribulation are well-defined in scripture. To finish the years determined for Daniel’s people and holy city (Daniel 9:24) and to punish a Christ rejecting and disobedient world (Colossians 3:6). The Bible also states that there are plans for the church during the Great Tribulation that are “out of this world,” quite literally. 2 Corinthians 5:10 KJV – “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” Revelation 19:6-9 KJV – “And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.” The judgment seat of Christ is in heaven as is the marriage of the Lamb and the next thing John records in Revelation 19 is the bride returning to earth with the Lord. To return with the Lord requires already being “where He is”. Thus, when the Lord ends the Great Tribulation with His return, the church will have already experienced the marriage of the Lamb and have stood at the judgment seat of Christ. Therefore the church cannot be on earth during any of the Tribulation. The Great Tribulation, the Day of Jacob’s trouble, the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord are not in the church’s future. The Day of the Lord centres on Israel and a Christ rejecting world. We will be safely in heaven, forever to be with the Lord, “in that day”. And in that, we can greatly rejoice! Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus.

I don't know about you, but reading the news headlines is mind blowing lately. I will never again say: It can't get any worse, because when we reached a low, things are still getting worse by the week, or should I say by the day. Some of the low points over the last weeks: We are now in "pride" month. Who would have ever thought that sexual perversion is celebrated for a whole month. Australia under the "leadership" of Anthony Albanese & Penny Wong voted in the UN for a Two State "Solution", which effectively is supporting Hamas The weak & biased leadership of the 2 mentioned above is indirectly encouraging all the insidious protests around the country against Israel, who has like any other nation the right to defend itself against terrorists. Last month at the UN & US Senate the had a moment of silence to honour the death of "The butcher of Teheran", honestly has the world gone mad? The Au government & Biden's policies are uncanny similar: Unbridled immigration, bad economical policies, soft on crime. It seems somebody else is pulling the strings. Can it really be God's will that His children be silent at a time like this? It is time for battle, not a time for "fence sitting" & cowardice that masquerades as as godly meekness &  obedience. There are haunting similarities between today's "Western" church and the German church of the 1930's.  "Cheap grace" has taken the spiritual vitality of millions of Christians.  Paying lip service to the Gospel, they shrink from resisting the evils of our time.  As Bonhoeffer & other heroes of the faith insisted; the church has a vital role in the culture & condition of a nation.  It is our  duty to fight the powers of darkness, especially on behalf of the weak & vulnerable. Silence is not an option. God calls us to defend the life of the unborn, to confront the lies of cultural Marxism, and to battle the globalist tyranny  that crushes human freedom.

Daniel 12:4 New King James Version “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” PEOPLE ARE on the move as never before and illegal immigration is  actually being encouraged by left-wing governments. It is one of the  signs given to Daniel of the last days.  The World Migrant Report for 2022 states that Europe and Asia each  hosted 87 and 86 million international migrants while North America  has taken 59 million. More than 40% of international migrants were  born in Asia. The number of foreign-born people living in the US in 1970 was 12  million but in 2019 it was 51 million. Illegal immigration is hard to estimate but America expects 10 million  during the Biden term of four years as President. In March 2024 Elon  Musk claimed the Biden Administration had flown 320,000 illegal  migrants into the country. Middle East and African nations have been  pouring into Europe changing the political, religious and economic  character of European countries. Left wing Governments see multiculturalism as a means of breaking  established Judeo-Christian social structures and changing the entire  character of Western nations. They encourage illegal immigration  and flood Western countries with Muslims, Hindus, Communists and  anybody else till Christmas Carols are considered offensive, mosques  and pagan temples fill the skyline. But migration is not the only evidence that men are running to and  fro in the last days. It is estimated that 10 million people fly every day  on 100,000 flights. That amounts to 3.65 billion per year. Of course  many people make mulitple flights each year.  The number of Cargo ships is 17,784; Bulk Carriers 12,941; crude  Oil Tankers 8,258; Chemical Tankers 6122; Container ships 5,574;  Passenger ships 5,369 and Liquified Gas Tankers 2,180. These continually ply the high seas. In addition there are more than 10,000  naval vessels. In 2009 the United Nations estimated that 3 million people moved  to cities each week. That’s over 150 million per year! At that rate it  won’t be long before most of world population will dwell in cities with  no means of supporting themselves when famine and earthquakes  strike during the Tribulation. In 1950 there were 750million living in cities and this increased to 4.8  billion in 2018. Our generation has seen people moving nationally and internationally  as never before and it is a sign that we are in the last days. The next great sign will be the disappearance of Christians at the  Rapture and then the Great Tribulation will burst upon this world.  Jesus Christ is coming soon. Signs are multiplying. He came 2000  years ago to provide a free pardon for all our sin and all who call  on Him for God’s mercy receive eternal life and a home in heaven.  Eternal life is a free gift for all who turn from sin to Christ for John 3:16 New King James Version "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life".

Before I was called to mission work to the former Soviet Union & the Eastern European countries behind the "Iron Curtain" I grew up in Holland or better said; the Netherlands. Everybody immediately thinks of the stereotype "cute" & not so nice things about this country below sea-level. But what is lesser known that it also has a very strong history of extreme "ingrained" Calvinism, especially in the rural towns & among the farming & fishing communities. Amsterdam in that regards is not good representation of the country as a whole. The reason I am starting with this introduction is that I grew up with experiencing & observing the "fruit" of Calvinism. You not only need to look at the theological aspect which I will come to soon, but study the life & actions of John Calvin himself & observe the fruit of this teaching in the life of the church & believers. Well it's not pretty & I will spare you the details. When I as a young man found Christ & surrendered my life to Jesus Christ as my Lord & Saviour, it became even more clear to me it is a false teaching. Besides observing the "fruit" I also did my "homework" and the more I delved into this matter the more disgusted I became with this abhorrent "doctrine" I not only concluded that it is a false teaching, but it is doctrine of demons: Calvinism is from the pit of hell. Calvinism" & the so called "TULIP" has some Biblical truths, but like most false doctrines & religions they are "sandwiched" with some truth. But don't forget that most poisons consists largely of water. The reason I am writing this blog is, that there seems to be a resurgence of Calvinism & unfortunately still influences many pulpits today across many denominations. Because I take the Bible literally, even when some kind of poetic language is used like symbol, or metaphor, something literal is being referenced. The Apostle Paul was chosen by God to be His Apostle with delegated authority to the Gentiles. And that, For the specific purpose of revealing the mystery of Salvation by Grace alone through faith alone as stated clearly in 1st Corinthians 15:3 and 4.. INCLUDING FOR THE FIRST TIME Gentiles into the plan of God. We see this plan unfolding very rapidly RIGHT NOW. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THE BIRTH PANGS OF MAJOR END TIME EVENTS, AS ARE COMING ON THE WORLD LIKE RIGHT NOW. History is repeating itself, so we need to continue to show our love, support and prayers for Israel. The Nazis where trying to keep their evil plans & actions secret, but many of the pro-Palestinian crowd are openly celebrating atrocities & calling for a "free Palestine" from the river to the sea, which is effectively calling for a genocide of the Jews.  Besides the people protesting, what is also concerning is the biased Mainstream Media, the Governments, UN, UNRWA, Red Cross & even churches allowing this to go on & condoning terrorist acts, by being silent & not speaking up against this wickedness. All of the above are directly or indirectly supporting the terrorist organisations Hamas & Hezbollah.  The road to another Holocaust is being paved with wokeness & apathy. As a church & individual believers we are not standing with Israel because they are better or perfect, no not all. It is because of God's covenant, they are His chosen people & He will pick up his plan & purpose again with the decedents of Abraham after the rapture. As a nation they are not redeemed yet, even though there is a growing number of Messianic Jews & we don't have to agree with all the decisions the Israeli government makes or has made (e.g. they were the most vaccinated country in the world during COVID). This hate & antisemitism didn't just come out of nowhere, but has been brewing for a long time & is now openly displayed & the world is turning against Israel while they have the right to defend themselves. Israel is the canary in the coalmine. This hate now openly displayed is coming from a large group of Muslims & Woke / Liberal people. Israel in a way is not only fighting Hamas, but is indirectly fighting for the West & its Judeo / Christian values. Besides making homosexuality acceptable in the church, he apparently has replaced abortion with social justice and environmentalism. Most troubling, however, is his call for a “new world order” and that there be a global constitution, a global court and a one-world government. Scripture is clear that the Antichrist will be the head of a one-world government (Revelation 13). Even conservative Catholics are sounding a warning that Pope Francis–the first Jesuit Pope–may be the most troubling Pope ever. He is raising apocalyptic concerns and some in the eschatological community feel that he, indeed, has gotten the nod to be the False Prophet. Roger Oakland, a former Catholic, writes, “According to Bible prophecy, a one-world religion that will offer the promise of peace throughout the world is going to commence prior to Christ’s return. To most, this global body will seem like a wonderful thing and very possibly will be a pseudo-Christianity (coming in the Name of Christ); however, contrary to how the masses will view it, it will actually help establish and set up the Antichrist and his one-world government.” He continues, “In order for this to happen, all religions must come together in an ecumenical plan. Revelation 13:16-17 Also he compels all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead [signifying allegiance to the beast], and that no one will be able to buy or sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. This portion of scripture in the Book of Revelation is not only prophetic, meaning it is going to happen, but also a warning. The door to salvation is still open, but at the same time we see signs that this door will be closing soon. The church dispensation, the time of the gentiles will come to an end soon with the rapture & the Lord will pick up again His plan & purpose with Israel for Salvation & judgement / wrath for those remaining on the earth, unless they don't take the Mark of the Beast. So many pastors & churches carry on as normal, I even heard Christians say: "It's all now gone back to normal after COVID" No a thousand times no: it is not, "the best is still to come" as so many pastors preach, on the contrary the hardest time is still to come, very possibly even 2024! God made an everlasting covenant with Abraham and his descendants to give them the land of Israel. And even if they sinned, He would always bring them back. God is faithful to keep His promises. In fact, the Bible is a record of promises God has made and kept. This is where I’m going: the apostle Paul asked the question in Romans 11:1, “Has God cast away His people?” Then he answered it: “Certainly not!” But some people would say that God has cast away His people. That’s the belief of amillennialism. Without getting too deep, amillennialists deny all the promises God gave to Israel, saying they were forfeited when Israel rejected Christ. Those promises, they say, are now fulfilled in the church, and the church has replaced Israel. God will not revive the nation literally. Today, amillennialism is the view held by the Roman Catholic Church, Lutherans, Presbyterians, Methodists, Episcopalians, and many others. But I would say to them, respectfully, I disagree. This belief takes the text of Scripture and spiritualizes the meaning away by making it an allegory, especially the prophetic passages regarding the end times. But I interpret biblical texts plainly, literally, unless compelled by the text itself to interpret it otherwise. The fact is, God has preserved the Jewish people and brought them back to the land. By right of creation, God owns the world. By right of selection, God owns the land of Israel. And He can give it to anybody He wants to. Well, He gave it to Abraham and his descendants: “For all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever” (Genesis 13:15). And it’s an “everlasting covenant” (Genesis 17:7). Sounds permanent to me. It doesn’t sound like God is going to replace them with the church. Now, go back to Paul’s question: “Has God cast away His people?” No. He brought them back to the land after seventy years in Babylonian captivity and after the Romans caused a dispersion that lasted nearly 2,000 years. God has chastened them, sent them into captivity, and dispersed them. But He has not and will not cast them out. One day, the Jewish people will recognize Jesus as their Messiah. What’s happening in the meantime? The church age, or the age of grace. Paul said, “Blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness”—literally, the full number—”of the Gentiles has come in” (Romans 11:25). God has a purpose in letting them experience this blindness. And the purpose is us. So when this present age of grace has run its course, when that last Gentile, whoever he or she is somewhere in the world, says yes to Jesus, at that point, I believe the rapture will happen. So, share the gospel. Maybe you’ll tell that last person the good news of Jesus. Or, as I like to say, if you’re that last Gentile holding this show up, would you please surrender to the lordship of Jesus?

The trumpet for snatching the saints from the earth is not the same as the last trumpet Those who hold to a mid-tribulation rapture teach that the seventh trumpet of Revelation 11:15 and the last trumpet of 1 Corinthians 15:52 and 1 Thessalonians 4:16 are identical. Those who teach a pretribulation rapture identify them as separate events. What difference does it make, and how can we know the truth? In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul is writing to believers concerning the transition from this life to eternal life. Our mortal bodies will be transformed into immortal, incorruptible bodies, prepared for the eternal kingdom of God. Verse 52 says, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” Paul addresses the same subject to the Thessalonians, and specifically connects it with the rapture of the church. “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17). There is no question that God has revealed these things to us and that He intends for us to be encouraged and instructed by them. The question is whether these trumpets are the same. If they are the same, then the rapture of the church happens in the middle of the tribulation period, and saints need to be prepared to endure those trials. If they are not the same, then we need to know when the last trump will sound, so that we can be prepared for it. In order to find out whether they are the same, we can compare the events they are associated with. It is clear that the first two passages (Corinthians and Thessalonians) fit together, but the third doesn’t appear to have any correlation in either the events described or the intended results. The argument connecting them has to depend on the meaning of the word last in 1 Corinthians 15:52. The Greek word eschatos can mean either “last in point of time” or “last in point of sequence.” This trumpet sounds before the wrath of God descends, yet Revelation 6:17 speaks of the wrath of the Lamb as having come, and the seventh trumpet doesn’t sound until Revelation 11:15. The trumpet of 1 Thessalonians is given in a moment, whereas Revelation 10:7 indicates that the seventh trumpet will be sounded for a number of days. Even though the seventh trumpet is the last one described in Revelation, Matthew 24:31 indicates there is yet another trumpet which will sound “after the tribulation of those days,” when Christ returns to the earth, which parallels with Revelation 19.
